Hausfeld LLP attorneys Chris Lebsock and Arthur Bailey represent the California Teachers’ Association and the National Education Association in the effort to overturn Proposition 8 in California and win recognition of marriage equality for all couples.
For years, Hausfeld LLP attorneys have been fighting to end marriage discrimination against same-sex couples in some of the most important legal challenges brought to date. In 2009 Hausfeld LLP filed an Amicus Curiae in the Supreme Court on behalf of two lesbian women seeking to overturn Proposition 8. Hausfeld LLP attorneys represented the California Teachers’ Association in Perry v. Schwarzenegger, et. al. (U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, Case No. 10-16696), the Ninth Circuit decision which held that Proposition 8 was unconstitutional.
Hausfeld LLP attorneys represented the California Teachers' Association and The National Education Association in the United State Supreme Court in the successful defense of the Ninth Circuit’s ground-breaking decision in Hollingsworth v Perry, Case No. 120-44. ruling.
