The London practice has a strong consumer law culture, and practice both in the UK and the EU. We act for charities, groups and individual consumers, small businesses who have been stung by price fixing, bank customers, policy holders or victims of various scams by rogue traders. Ingrid Gubbay currently sits on the Civil Justice Council of England and Wales (consumer redress committee) working on ways for consumers to get better access to court based remedies, and previously was the Principal Campaigns lawyer for Which? the largest consumer organisation in the EU. In 2007, Ingrid brought the first collective consumer action in the EU in the Competition field, on behalf of Which?, Vincent Smith was previously Director of enforcement in Competition matters at the Office of Fair Trading and has extensive experience with consumer law and practice.
